    Dealer Notes

Shadow Black paint under a gray molded-in-color hard top, 17-inch gray-painted aluminum wheels and 32-inch all-terrain tires give this new 2026 Ford Bronco Big Bend 4-Door 4x4 at Michigan City Ford in Michigan City, Indiana exactly the right attitude. A 2.3L EcoBoost, a 10-speed automatic and G.O.A.T. Modes make it a straightforward way into real Bronco ownership, with doors and a top you can take off when the weather finally cooperates.

The window sticker shows $4,085 in original listed cost of added equipment. The 10-speed automatic transmission at $1,795 makes this an easy Bronco to live with in traffic and on the highway. The gray molded-in-color hard top, also $1,795, gives you the security and all-weather comfort of a solid roof, and a sound deadening headliner at $495 helps keep the cabin quieter at highway speed and during a Lake Michigan cold snap. Equipment Group 221A builds the Big Bend series, with carpet flooring, an open front differential, 17-inch gray-painted aluminum wheels and P255/75R17 32-inch all-terrain tires on the list. A connectivity package with one year included works with the Ford app.

This is why people buy a Bronco. Terrain management with G.O.A.T. Modes lets you set the vehicle up for the surface in front of you, whether that means gravel, sand or an unplowed side street, and four-wheel drive backs it up. Hill start assist helps on steep grades and boat ramps, front and rear tow hooks are ready for recovery duty, and fender tie-down hooks make a handy place to secure gear. A front stabilizer bar and the all-terrain tires are well suited to a mix of daily driving and weekend exploring. The sticker also lists a tool kit for door and top removal, so you have what you need when summer arrives and it is time to open everything up.

The cabin is simple, useful and easy to live with. Gray and black cloth seats with 6-way manual adjustment for the driver and passenger suit a vehicle that will see sandy feet and wet dogs, and the 60/40 split-fold rear seat gives you flexible room for passengers and cargo. A leather-wrapped steering wheel on a tilt and telescoping column, a molded gear shift knob, cruise control, one-touch up and down driver and passenger windows and a locking glove box cover the daily details. Smart charging USB ports and 12-volt powerpoints keep your phone and camp gear powered up.

The technology is a strong point. SYNC 4 runs on a 12-inch center display, and a digital cluster display sits ahead of the driver. Push-button start and the Ford app add convenience, and auto start-stop technology is aimed at efficiency. Pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking and a rear view camera support an attentive driver and do not replace one. AdvanceTrac with roll stability control, the Personal Safety System, Safety Canopy side airbags for all rows, a perimeter alarm and individual tire pressure monitoring round out the safety list, and child safety rear door locks and the LATCH child safety system are on board for families. Auto high beam headlamps and heated power mirrors with manual fold finish the outside. EPA estimates are 18 city, 22 highway and 20 combined mpg, and actual results will vary. Weekend explorers from Trail Creek, Chesterton and Portage will find it an easy drive to come see this Big Bend.

I spent months reading reviews comparing the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. The general consensus was the Bronco is easier to live with as a daily driver. I purchased a Bronco 1.5 years ago to consolidate my SUV and Convertible into one vehicle. It's been a dream to own thus far. Highs +Adaptive cruise control, easy to move down the freeway with minimal effort + Steering - nicely weighted, even after 40k miles goes down road in straight line +Styling - people always tell me how sharp the Bronco looks +Top down - awesome to put 4 other people in and hit the road +Removing hard top - not difficult, can be done by one person +Snow - feels secure and planted in NE Ohio winter snow +Comfort - Seats are great for long road trips +Stereo - Bang and O stereo sounds fantastic +Controls - thankful for buttons and not just screens +Gas Mileage - can average in the low-mid 20's if driven cautiously + Seat warmers - hot hot hot +Room - feels much less cramped inside than Jeep Wrangler Lows -Wind Noise can be pronounced, but not anything I can't live with -Hard top is sensitive, be careful removing it you can scratch and damage it -Windshield - because of steep angle, they like to get chipped / cracked -Interior - materials look a little cheap for a 55k vehicle (except seats = so nice) -2.3L engine - doesn't sound great, but does a great job of moving you forward If you're going to be a commuter, I recommend the Outer Banks model because it comes with the least aggressive tires. It also has body colored fender flares and just looks fantastic. I bought a black one with the black painted hard top. It is quite the looker. Also, get the High/Lux package so you get the Bang and Olfusen stereo, 360 degree camera, and adaptive cruise control. I usually change vehicles every 1-2 years, but I absolutely love this one and plan to keep it until the new model comes out. The fact that it was designed and built in America also speaks to me. The Bronco community and number of people that admire this vehicle will really surprise you. After nearly 40,000 miles I am firmly in the Bronco camp and plan to stay here for awhile!…

I have a 2024 Ford Bronco Outer Banks with the 2.3L. No issues at all. Drove it across country and it was comfortable. I bought mine with a hard top because I live in a climate with snow and wanted more security. I would recommend it.…
